In this video, the goal is to figure out the winning idea for white. It takes some careful moves, but it is doable!

The 2 bishops build a wall just like I learned for checkmating with only 2 bishops, the kings and no other pieces on the board, only here the wall the 2 bishops form stays and the rook checkmates.
3:02 What Qc4+ !?
Hahaha! I had everything figured out to the 6:00 mark, including moving the white queen on the 8th rank and checkmate on the next move, and I thought I was so clever. I did not even see black would underpromote to a rook, LOL!
I ended up promoting the pawn on 4
I missed Rg6, kept looking for a line from Rg7 but after Rb8 there isn't a good response (besides going back to Rg8)
Moral of the story: The Queen is overrated therefore we should play the Botez Gambit
🙂
Video : Can you find a draw if you can't find a win.
Me : bishop take knight = draw
Video : You can't take the knight. It'll result in a draw
Me : …
Still fun watch 🙂
4:54 why is it stalemate? White can take the rook with the dark-square Bishop Bxb2+ Kxb2, then Qg7+ and white should win this, similar to the scenario where Black promotes to a Queen shown immediately after. Oh, looks like it will be a draw eventually, as you later show.
Figured out how to stalemate black pretty quickly.
