6:46 Rh5!! And then white escapes and draw the game!
Nice video!
it is not difficult to guess which one is the draw, because the puzzle will try to mislead you, the puzzle which looks more easily is in fact a loss for white
1:17 – I already know the first one is a draw because I saw it in a Short earlier today lol
Day 40 chalenge chess but Martin moves twice If You get checked in Martin first move you'll ππ’. Also its my birthday
Heheh – that last stalemate position was so sneaky!
My 1200 ELO Brain Was Correct Cuz I Thought Puzzle 2 Is Mate And Puzzle 3 Black Wins Pawn Race
39 min ago lol
I saw the 1st one earlier lol
Is there a reason rook to H5 or rook to c4 was not evaluated on the second puzzle? It looks like both of these moves stop the checkmate and ends in a draw. Would like to look into that deeper maybe there was something I missed?
6:43 white would probably move rook to c4. I can not tell if Black can force any checkmates down this path, it could end in a pawn race or black having king and bishop (not enough to check mate with)
2nd position is a draw I can prove
After king to b2 rook can go to h5 to stop the pawn and then 2nd position is a draw
Bobby flies solo next time.
What about RC4 in second puzzle instead of pushing the pawn 6:38
YOU MAY NOT CROSS
8:01 pawn B4 to B5? Stopping all black pawn in white corner diagonal?
Since all what was needed was to identify which of the three positions was a draw for White, it was quite smart of them to each pick a different position. That way, there was a 100% chance of success one of them was allowed to cross the bridge. (Of course, Capablanca is going to present a puzzle, with little chance of Peter Patzer able to solve it).
I picked the same position as Bobby Fisherman, but only because at first glance, it looked like the least likely to be a draw. Which makes it the most likely to be the solution of the puzzle.
Hi
Thanks Nelson for changing the pieces skin
It bothers me that the band around the guardian's arm seemingly disappears under his bicep.
In position 2, 1.Kb4 Rxa5 2.Kxa5 b6+ 3.Kb4 Kb2 4.Rc4 Bxc4 5. Kxc4 (With these moves white should be able to draw because king and pawn are opposing two pawns.)Also if 4… c5+ 5.Kb5 Bxc4+ 6.Kxb6 (and the c5 pawn is going to fall next.)
I would have loved to see Rc4 considered (when black ist threatening mate) in Position 2 even though its loosing as well.

#3 feels like the draw, White's in check as is the case with #2. You gotta take the rook, it's the most dangerous piece on the board, then it's a matter of getting the opposition on Black's to shield him away from your pawn while keeping an eye on his pawn. White's king ain't catching him, no chance. In #2 White has 3 choices; Kc5 (which loses the bishop), interposition by Rc4 (which leaves Black a rook up after the capture and exchange of bishops, and positionally his rook can block the a-pawn for eternity), or Kb4 (which I think Black would play …c6 to get off the dark squares and continue tightening the vise on White's king). I don't like White's chances in that one. And with #1 somehow I think Black having a bishop will make a difference, though it's not immediately effective yet as White's pawns are all on light squares while the bishop is on dark squares. I say #3 is the draw. Let's find out if I got it right… π€π€
Edit: Wait a minute…I blew it. πππ€¦πΎββπ€¦πΎββ Doggone it, I blew it!! I should have known #1 was actually the draw and it had something to do with what I just said…Black's bishop is opposite colored and can't really terrorize White's pawns save for the b4 pawn. #2 was as I thought except for the checkmate with the pawn (that was hilarious!!), and #3 I was half right, it was partly because of Black having the opposition that he'd win a pawn race and the game, I miscalculated his playing …Kd7 sealing the win. Honestly I should have seen that. But them's the breaks. π€·πΎββπ€·πΎββππ
Second position. After black King to B2 there is a move to draw (Rock to H5). After black Pawn C7 -> C5 white Rock takes it (H5 -> C5). Black Pawn takes whites Rock (B6->C5), white King takes black Pawn (B4 -> C5). And we have endgame with Pawn and Bishop, that matches the last cell of the A column, so black bishop will sacrifices itself for the pawn at the end. It turns to a draw.
early
7:07 en passant
In the position at 6:31, is it possible to draw by deflecting the bishop by positioning white's rook at C4 or H5, with the threat of caputuring the pawn if checkmate is attempted?
I admit to not having a high rating but surely after a random black move of lets say Bh5, Kb5 will take the pawns?
In the second position isnt rook h5 a draw bc u can sac the rook to not be mated?
I want a part where they fail and then after solving all the other chess puzzles with new found experience they return and solve an even harder puzzle
3 its a draw
βBy the time Bobby Fischerman returned, Peter and Joe had already failed the cannibalsβ chess problemβ¦.β
In the 2nd puzzle after rxa5, kxa5, b6+,kb4, kb2 u can actually go rc4 and if bishop takes, u take and itβs a draw. And if c5+ after rc4, u can sacrifice THE ROOOOOK for 2 pawns and black isnβt able to checkmate you with just a bishop
3 tink wite move
How did he know their names?
I have a question for the second puzzle after blacks king moves to b2 what would happen if white played rook to c4?
Love the content
7:58 b5 a move? Blocks off all squares on top of board so you just have to protect the c pawn
This is great kid friendly material, a little advanced, but I hope it gets young folk into this amazing game.
I remember that chessscapes covered this in one of his shorts so I know that white would draw by sacrifing a bunch of pawns and stalmating the king in the first position
love this please keep posting daily
0:38 β W-w-w-hat… is your favourite colour?
Or in this case:
β W-w-w-hat… is your name?
β Iβm Peter Patzer from Camelot.
β W-w-w-hat… is your quest?
β To meet Capablanca and leave this island with treasures.
β W-w-w-hat… is your favourite position?
β The third. A-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-h!
I hope the Final challenge for Bobby pits him against the re-animated bodies of the 1970's Soviet Chess Federation.
Right answer here, but only by solving the other two positions
doomfist puzzle
Not a high rated player so Iβm probably missing something but in position 2 canβt white go rook h5 sacking the rook and forcing a draw ? Or am I just completely missing something ?
What's next "I need to solve this puzzle before breathing"
Again i wanna support you with a like and comment for this tremendous piece of art
Peter Patzer and Average Joe need to work on catching more stockfishes
I somehow got it right
Its just
the 3rd position definitely was out of question
2nd position was too complicated for me to analyze but im good at endgames so 1st position seemed decently solvable
especially because i came here after a few Eric Rosen videos so my mind was set to sac mode
