Stockfish is bad now
She’s gorgeous but what the hell is happening here???
My comment is here when it's 69 views
Stockfish is just able to calculate billion times faster than humans, but it doesn't understand the game.
I always find these puzzles so satisfying, knowing that even the strongest chess engine stockfish cant solve it at first glance. But what would happen if you would run stockfish natively on this puzzle
"Stockfish is the best engine" : No
"Humans' brains are the best engine" : Yes
Alpha Zero would solve this, it would strangle the King in the corner.
6:17 black should push pawn and play bishop g3…
Your first chess bot!?! That’s awesome, congrats!!
What of at 12:17 king takes bishop?
When you are smart enough to calculate billions of combinations, but not smart enough to understand any idea.
The idea of "light squares are free" is easy to understand.
The idea of boxing the king, rook, and pawns in, is easy to understand (not easy to execute, or to come up with in the position, but easy to understand).
The idea of losing a tempo is easy to understand.
Putting them together in this manner is extremely hard to do, understanding what ideas are possible to use requires supreme skill, but is possible for a human.
Computers always struggle with these long, idea based puzzles. Long perpetual checks for a draw is another theme they tend to be unable to solve.
There is a duck in the chessboard xD
Really fascinating puzzle, thank you for showcasing it!
I was really doubtful that Stockfish actually can't solve it because I expected it to be able to calculate far enough to see the ideas. I'm using SF 15 and at first it seemed like it couldn't figure it out, but on my hardware (which isn't anything crazy fast) it needed 6 minutes and 36 seconds at depth 48 to realize that Bc6 is actually winning (+4.91).
So Stockfish can solve it, but it needs relatively long.
You can't solve this puzzle!Challenge?Yes!
White to play and win
Stockfish can solve this, but it constantly changes its opinion!
Great way to wake up to find out I’m just as good as Stockfish…. that is, until Stockfish gets his coffee and get that W!
What about the 50 moves rule or the 3 repetition? I think black can draw using them, right?
I would like to see the same puzzle with stockfish on aswell
If you ever feel useless remember blacks bishop in this puzzle
I’ve been subbed since before 10k I think and it’s mad to see your channel grow
Haha stupid computer
This is probably something like mate in 40 with perfect play
6:09 what if black plays Ph4? and if Kh3 black can Bg3 and keep the bishop on the e diagonale? Would that help to keep the game a draw?
