so true i remember my freshman year when i just joined the team i would spend hours just going through your videos just getting better now im currently tied for #1 in my conference thanks to you:)
Last January I joined the site and after 10 games my blitz rating was roughly 830 ELO. I did search the word CHESS on Youtube and name Chessnetwork come up watched the very first video in your channel ! since then I have been watching and your videos constantly no matter what video it is from master games to your fun filled educational tournaments videos 🙂 I havent read a book but played games on Chess.Com and kept watching your videos. I'm 1450-1500 ELO now. Thanks for your FREE lessons (*.*)
Yes, if you can see every single move in a game as a puzzle and also being able to solve it. If you can do that on every move, then yes, you're a master.
Hey Jerry, keep up this amazing work! I am really enjoying your chess videos. Can you comment on ours? We are trying to set up some chess videos, but still need some tips and tricks. Thanks!
You can find the video under my channel. I'ts called the Queens Bee Attack.
Good video, but I think we could get more out of them if there wasn't a time limit, and for the sake of instruction we could spend more time on each problem. Not that these were particularly difficult or anything, but if you weren't timed, I'm sure you would give an even better presentation.
I didn't allow the time to influence me in that regard. I read it aloud to only help to determine the difficulty of the problem. One is allowed to take more time than was given.
Jerry is now beginning to dissapear for like 4-5 days at a time between videos i dont like this i might need to switch back to KC…..at least tell us why youre taking these long breaks CN
@infidel94 it is a game between [player x] and [player y] that was played in [city x] in [d.m.yyyy]. Now where is [city x]? It is the capital of [country y]
@nocureforstupid- I had the same thought and was stuck on it for awhile. But let's continue that – How do you capture the king then? Qg1+ isn't an option because the king would capture the queen. Additionally there is no way to protect the Queen if she is on g2. The king can't move, but you have nothing to pressure it with.
I think Qe5+ is it for the first problem because if Qf4, than there's Nxh5(If Qxf4 than there's Nxf4 getting White's knight to safety.), Qxe5, and than Nxe5. And if Qg3 than there's Nxh5, Qxe5, Nxe5. Also if white does Bf4 than Qxh5 is available. Finally if white does Nf4/Ng3/g3/Kh1/Kg1 than there's Qxg5. For the second problem I think it's Qh8+ because after Bxh8 this King will be chased around with the following moves Ng5+, hxg5 (if Kg8? than Qe8#), Qe7+, Kh6 (If Kg8 than Qe8+, Kh7, and than Qxh8#) hxg5+, Kh5, Qh7+, Kxg5, Qh4+, Kf5, Qe4+, Kg5, Qg4+, Kh6, and finally the mate, Qh4#
Great! Proceed with caution though…chess can be addicting. 🙂
This puzzles are only tatics.
You need to training openings, endgames and strategies too.

Qh8, Bxh8, Ng5, Hxg5, Qe7, (king doesnt go to G8) H6, Qf8, Kh5/Kh7, Qxh8#
well chess games are just really big puzzles!! ;))
no your not. Your spot on! 😀

Reddit brought me here too. I like chess, (don't love it), but I can't stop watching Jerry's videos. They're just mentally stimulating I guess.
4 queens on the board huh? It would be so cool to exchange all of them, right chessnetwork? 😉
Good one 😉
Thx for the insight jerry
Jerry: you are my favorite chess player in the world! Keep making those bullet videos man!!

Hi this is mato…

Jerry where did you go? How about another warzone before Christmas?
i could not figure out any difference on the first move. Ng5+ or Qh8+
I didn't allow the time to influence me in that regard. I read it aloud to only help to determine the difficulty of the problem. One is allowed to take more time than was given.
If the 2nd move is Qh8+ black has another important option. 🙂
I was wondering, what's your ELO?
Pls try to speak some Asian English thx…..

I'm thinking it might have to do with that it's close to christmas. =)

if i can win every chess game, could i solve any chess puzzle?
If Kh6, there is Qxh8#
This is why I sub to u years ago
aka take the queen
If the bishop blocked the queens check in the first puzzle and you take the knight, why wouldnt the bishop just take the queen?
Because if the bishop blocks the check, then black would capture the knight with the queen instead.
These 3 how to solve puzzle videos are great. More please!
second puzzle took me like 5 seconds to solve
never mind, didn't have the solution at all

you sound like ryan howard
like it
if bishop blocked?

In the second problem if Kh6 instead of Kg8, then Qf8+ and whether Kh7 or Kh5, Qxh8 mate. Quicker than hxg5+.
thanks
A short way to do it is H pawn to H5, black pawn recaptures, then move queen #2 from e2 to e4. After it's checkmate!!!
So what I was thinking was that after 6:57 1…Kh6 2.Qf8+ Kh5 and 3.Qf8#.
I solved them! 🙂
first puzzle why not knight to e5 ? after black plays knight to e5 white queen on f3 is attacked and has no square to protect the knight on h5.
